Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe. Sweden is the birthplace of Nobel Prize with due importance to Research and Innovation

Sweden has an export oriented mixed economy. The engineering Sector accounts for 50% of output and exports. Almost 4.9% of the GDP is spent on research and ranks fourth as World’s leading innovators. Telecommunications, automotive industry and pharmaceutical industries hold great importance in Sweden industrial sector.

General Information
Universitis 21 rates Sweden as the second best in the world for overall quality of education after USA. Swedish Universities focus on group work which provides valuable skills to the students to be team players. The education system is student-centric and students share an informal and open relation with their teachers. Students with strong personal initiatives and independent thinking are valued more as the education system involves more of an interaction with regard to expression of views, opinions through seminars and group discussions. The Masters program involves more of incorporating theory into practice. Swedish Education system believes that the global market values team players with ambition and innovative skills. There are 52 universities and university colleges in Sweden, offering courses and programmes at the bachelor's, Master’s and doctoral levels. 600 master’s degree programs at Swedish universities are taught entirely in English.

Scholarships are offered to International students and researchers wishing to pursue higher studies in Swedish Universities.  These scholarships are provided by the Swedish Institutes or Universities or through bilateral exchange programs with countries such as China, Japan and Italy.   There are other organizations both Swedish and foreign who also offer scholarships to students as well.  Student who pursue certain select programs are also granted scholarships by the Universities.  Also scholarships are also granted through scholarship challenges offered to students from various countries.
